This position is leading the Latin America Business Unit strategy and insights function ensuring alignment with the Global and International DL (IDL) Segment strategy and goals. The incumbent will be working closely with the Latin America BU Lead and team, Global Insights and other BU Insights leads across the IDL Segment. They will partner with the Latin America market S&I and leadership teams and function as an advisor and strategic thought partner in the following areas:
- Driving the business performance and Planning for growth
- Analyzing market performance - identifying gaps and opportunities and work with local markets to adjust plans accordingly.
- Advice on the deployment of right analytics (research or data analytics) to generate insights
- Liaise with Global Strategy & Insights functions, IDL segment leadership, other BU S&I leads; Facilitate standard process sharing within and beyond Latin America BU
Responsibilities:
Leadership Alignment / Strategy & Insights
- Providing thought leadership on vision, strategies, key priorities and growth opportunities, critical initiatives, and pricing approaches
- Ensuring strategic and functional alignment within LABU, local markets, IDL Segment and Global team.
- Support communications, organizational change and identification of resources for key priorities
- Demonstrating and sharing of standard methodologies across local markets and BU’s within IDL Segment as well as across other Segments and the Global team.
- Involvement in special project work relating to gathering the true business opportunities and accelerating growth
- Developing talent and building self-sufficiency within S&I function; Working with local market leadership team to ensure right capabilities, right tools and right processes deployed in their S&I teams
Planning
- Coordinate & standardize the 3-1-Q process across the Latin BU, and align with Segment the tools and processes
- Ensure local markets have business plans that align with key strategy priorities,
Performance Management and Insights
- Lead Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and performance management process with Latin BU and local markets
- Provide consulting support for specific platforms/initiatives as required by markets (e.g. Pricing/Value, Menu, McCafe, etc.)
- Provide feedback and input into market projections, BU targets, KPI’s and scorecards
- Support preparation and coordination of management presentations, reporting, analysis etc.
- Strengthens the McDonald's brand position in the markets by giving actively to the development of marketing plans that drive impact.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (required).
- Advanced degree (MBA or Master’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics) preferred.
- Proven experience in business strategy, customer analysis and business insights, preferably having experience with combined management consultancy and multi-national company s background.
- Advanced skills in financial analysis, data analysis, and reporting with the ability to identify, analyze, and interpret trends in large and complex data sets.
- Must have a consistent record of developing business strategies from business information, leading/consulting with cross-functional teams, and influencing decisions using information.
- Must be a collaborative and persuasive business leader with the ability to inspire others to accomplish goals through partnership and influence.
- Highly analytical with an ability to pull data/information from multiple sources to generate actionable insights and tell a story.
- Familiarity with marketing technology, behavioral data, segmentation and audience creation techniques, media strategy, campaign measurement, attribution and predictive modeling, and trends.
- Must be able to lead research/analysis initiatives at the same time.
- Highly analytical with an ability to interpret data and information into insights; then from insights into action
- An ability to challenge, question and seek new and improved ways of working through analysis business trends, applying data and information.
- Strong communication and alignment skills
- Collaborative and persuasive – Ability to accomplish goals through partnering with and influencing others.
