Consultant, Political Risks

Control Risks is looking for a consultant or senior consultant to join Control Risks’ risk analysis team for Brazil and the Southern Cone. The successful candidate will report directly to Control Risks’ global risk analysis practice leader for that region. They will form an integral part of a team delivering analysis and intelligence on political, security, operational, ESG, integrity and social risks in Latin America and the Caribbean. The role will involve providing expert analytical support to leading companies operating and investing in the region.

The role involves:

• Contributing to Control Risks’ analytical coverage of Brazil – and, where necessary, Argentina and Chile – for a range of subscription products
• Conducting major consulting projects
• Delivering briefings directly to clients
• Supporting business development initiatives
• Building on existing – and contributing to the development of new – products and services
• Collaborating proactively and constructively with Control Risks’ teams of investigators, crisis and security consultants, business developers, and a wide variety of internal stakeholders based in the Americas and beyond.

The candidate must have a professional background relating to political risks and/or security threats in Latin America and the proven ability to think and write analytically to a very sophisticated standard.

Requirements

• At least 4+ of experience working in a related and/or relevant role.
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of political, ESG, integrity, security, social and operational risks in Brazil and the Southern Cone.
• Academic or professional training in political risk, security threat and/or political analysis.
• Familiarity with business-focused research and analysis.
