Job Overview:
The Construction Project Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects. This position involves coordinating and managing various aspects of the construction process, from planning and design to execution and closeout. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of construction methodologies and project management principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Assist in the development of project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project requirements and timelines are met.
- Prepare and review project documentation, including specifications, drawings, and contracts.
- Site Management:
- Oversee day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
- Monitor progress and performance of construction activities, addressing any issues or delays promptly.
- Conduct regular site inspections and provide reports on project status.
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, including resolving design and construction-related issues.
- Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate implementation.
- Manage and track project changes, including scope modifications and design alterations.
- Communication and Reporting:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and present project reports, including progress updates, financial summaries, and risk assessments.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and adheres to project specifications.
- Conduct inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary to address deficiencies.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Conduct safety meetings and training sessions for site personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Construction Manager certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, structural analysis, with a focus on precast concrete, façade engineering or similar facilities.
- Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Working Conditions:
- Site-based with regular visits to office.
