PRG seeks an ambitious, motivated, and driven individual to join our team as a Construction Coordinator. This position covers NYC capital construction projects close to electric and gas utilities in the local market.
On a typical day, you will be responsible for the following tasks
  • Surveying locations
  • Providing measurements, photos, documentation, and producing hand or digital sketches. 
  • Daily construction site monitoring and reporting, 
  • Confirming construction schedules, 
  • Tracking crew locations, 
  • Identifying electric and gas infrastructure, 
  • Attending field meeting, 
  • Interacting with construction contractors, other utility inspectors, and NYC project personnel, 
  • Monitor construction for QC, covering emergency utility outages.
You should possess the following skills and abilities to be successful in this role.
  • 2+ years in the construction industry, able to read blueprints.
  • Ascertain construction scheduling and planning, take accurate measurements, produce detailed sketches. 
  • Prior excavation, utility installation, identification, and site inspection are most desirable. 
  • Direct experience with electric and gas infrastructure is also a big plus
  • Ability to work with contractors, other utility inspectors, and NYC personnel on construction projects
  • Knowledge of construction cost estimating and NYC construction codes is a bonus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a positive attitude. Having a positive attitude to succeed in this job would be best.
  • The candidate must be well-organized, proactive, resourceful, flexible, able to communicate with staff (at all levels) in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and perform highly professionally.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office programs.
  • Candidates from related fields such as laborers, utility location, Surveyors, telecom/telephone conduit installation, gas / electric inspection or installation, are all encouraged to apply
  • Some overtime may be required at times based on the volume of work.
Requirements:
  • Requires a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Work is mostly outdoors, sometimes in inclement weather.
  • While performing duties, employees must walk extensively, sit, stand, and climb stairs throughout the day.
  • While performing duties, employees must be able to drive to sites throughout New York City and surrounding areas. 
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive hourly rate based on skills, experience and qualifications, ranging from $35.00 - $45.00 / hour.
  • Mileage reimbursement for business-related vehicle use.
