Your Mission
In our Data mesh organization, the Data Capabilities squad is in charge of the data products related to BlaBlaCar members (Identity, Trust and Safety, Community, Support), and BlaBlaCar platform (Authentication, Payment, Messaging systems). The squad builds a data warehouse on this scope to serve clean data to data practitioners, its stakeholders and any of the 700 employees. The squad provides analysis and tools to platform product managers, and owns services such as fraud detection and content moderation services. The data-warehouse, materialized in several layers, is built around three main components: Google BigQuery, Airflow and DBT. As a Confirmed Analytic Engineer, your role is to own members and platform data from the raw data ingestion layer to the data-mart layer. You will work closely with Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Software Engineers on your team to continuously provide data products to enable decision making on the product. You will be a contributing member of the Data Engineering Chapter, the group gathering all analytic engineers of the company, which aims at improving our data stack, set of tools, processes, and at streaming best practices to all squads.
Your Responsibilities
• Translating analytical needs, current and anticipated, into a design for our data model layers and technical specifications for your data producers
• Building efficient and robust data models for large volumes of data
• Developing and optimizing the data workflows from the raw layer to the data mart in our data platform
• Implementing solutions to improve the data quality
•Being the point of communication for all Data Engineering decisions in your domain; working closely with the Data Analysts of your team
•Contributing in the Data Engineering Chapter, defining policies and standards for data management
•Articulating the strategy to build a data platform; this platform enables a mesh of autonomous data domains to interoperate.
Your Qualifications
• Fluency in English
•You have excellent communication skills, you’re humble, and you enjoy sharing & learning from others
•You embrace change, are able to take a step back, prioritize, and focus on added-value tasks
•You have a results-driven and impact-oriented mindset
•You are capable of working hand-in-hand with data producers (devs) and data consumers (analysts) on a daily basis
•You are capable of designing a data architecture
•You have strong data engineering skills
•You have strong SQL skills & work experience on a cloud data warehouse
•You have strong experience with Python, including testing, deployment and codebase refactoring
•Experience building DataMarts is a plus
•Experience with Airflow, DBT is a plus
•Experience with Salesforce APIs and objects is a plus
