About the role
Responsible for managing and controlling the company’s Document Control and Configuration Management policies and processes, with a strong emphasis on maintaining accurate product configurations and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.
What you will do
- Establish and maintain procedures for creating, maintaining, and changing control of documents and product configurations to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Conduct audits of company processes to ensure compliance with controlled procedures and identify areas for improvement.
- Enforce document control and configuration management requirements to meet customer, supplier, external compliance, and internal document standards.
- Act as Backup Chairperson for all Change Control Board (CCB) activities, ensuring that changes are properly documented, reviewed, and approved.
- Verify completeness and accuracy of documents and product configurations by working closely with document originators to resolve discrepancies.
- Process requests for the electronic distribution of documents, ensuring secure and efficient access.
- Collaborate with engineering and other departments to maintain an accurate and approved product sourcing database.
- Oversee departmental responsibilities including process creation, audit, maintenance, data entry, meeting coordination, document distribution, and change control.
- Ensure all changes to documentation and product configurations are implemented accurately and in a timely manner.
- Review all Engineering changes (BOMs, Drawings, AVL material dispositions) to ensure they are properly documented and routed for approval.
- Ensure process control and execution for Engineering Product Changes at vendor and contract manufacturing partner sites, including validating configuration alignment between the company and vendor systems.
- Provide periodic training to all users on document control and configuration management practices.
- Guide corporate configuration management practices to ensure compliance with ISO9001 and other relevant standards.
- Develop and distribute metrics for Engineering Change Order (ECO) effectiveness and cost impacts to provide clear “as-built” documentation on all products and a broad understanding of approval times, implementation changes, and cost impacts.
- Participate in and help lead the development of corporate document control and configuration management governance practices.
Who you are and what you bring
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in document control and configuration management, including large project or program document control management.
- A working understanding of the interdependencies of Engineering, Manufacturing, Commodities, Sales Order Administration, and Customer Support regarding the documentation of part numbers, product structures, and engineering changes.
- Ability to interpret product bills of materials and assembly drawings for complex multi-tiered product structures.
- Proficiency with office computer systems, including Word and Excel.
