Job Description
The Composite Manufacturing Tooling Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing tooling solutions to optimize the manufacturing process of composite materials. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling systems meet quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop tooling solutions, including molds, fixtures, and jigs, for composite manufacturing processes
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed models of tooling components
- Collaborate with manufacturing and design engineers to optimize processes, select materials, and create ply schedules
Required Qualifications:
- 8-10 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in composite manufacturing and tooling design.
- Proficiency in CAD software and simulation tools for structural analysis.
- Strong knowledge of composite materials, manufacturing processes, and fabrication techniques.
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in relevant field.
- Experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, and advanced manufacturing technologies.
- Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory requirements.
