The Composites Assembler Team Lead at Beta Technologies will report to the Composites Manager to assist with the development, specification, and growth of the internal Composite Structures department at Beta Technologies, as well as leading the team of technicians who work in that facility.
The successful candidate will be able to lead the composite structures team growth at Beta, preparing for the rigor of producing complicated certified composite airframes for Beta’s Alia platform. Along the timeline to that goal will be the support of Beta’s current production aircraft, the development of new composite assembly jigs, and potentially the production of future aircraft.
Additionally, the successful candidate will interface with engineers and analysts in the Structures group to advise on DFM methods and viability of new designs. To accomplish this, a thorough understanding of composite structure design, tool design, manufacturing methods, material systems, inspection methods, and finishing systems is required.

- Ability to hand drill, ream, countersink, deburr holes, and install a variety of aviation-grade fasteners
- Proficient with the wide variety of manufacturing techniques used in modern composites
- Experience with locating, trimming, and installing composite parts and assemblies
- High attention to detail and a desire for accuracy with the ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and quality control processes
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Implement and main 5/6s standards
Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:
- 5+ years experience in composite manufacturing or related positions
- Experience leading small teams in a manufacturing-type environment
- High school diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent.
- Innovative and mechanically oriented mindset; looks for ways to improve processes and promote quality
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you
- Experience with composite repair techniques
- Familiarity with ASTM/SACMA, AS/ISO9001 standards
- Direct experience managing a team in an aviation environment
