About the role:

We are seeking a (Senior) Compliance Program Manager to help develop and certify hardware solutions that enable our revolutionary autonomous flight technology. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of compliance and certification for hardware products and the ability to thrive in a dynamic engineering environment. We’re looking for a problem solver who can collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, driving cross-functional teams and external partners towards common goals and compliance milestones. This role requires deep technical knowledge and sharp program management skills.

This will be an in-person role at our HQ located in San Mateo, CA.


How you'll make an impact:

  • Work with legal & outside advisors to research and identify applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards, and assess related risks, for domestic and international products
  • Prevent compliance blockers by collaborating with engineering planning and design teams, reviewing design data, and developing compliance policies
  • Integrate certification and compliance needs into overall program plan [unit allocation, test timelines, budget, etc.]
  • Select and manage external test vendors to execute compliance and certification programs on schedule, review and interpret results, and react quickly to issues
  • Identify compliance marking requirements for product, packaging, and other materials, as well as marketing and ecommerce assets
  • Develop compliance program schedules and define milestones - track progress, communicate, and escalate issues as appropriate
  • Identify and communicate compliance risks and develop strategies to mitigate them

What makes you a good fit:

  • 3-5+ years of demonstrable excellence in managing compliance programs for consumer electronics, automotive, aircraft, or robotic systems
  • Detailed understanding of global safety and environmental regulations for relevant products
  • In-depth knowledge of EMC, CE & UKCA Regulations, IEC Safety standards and revisions, REACH, RoHS, WEEE, Prop 65, PTCRB, CSA, and ISED
  • Exceptional communication skills and natural ability to motivate/drive cross-functional internal teams, international teams, and external labs/partners towards a common goal
  • Relentless attention to detail and robust problem-solving skills
  • Highly analytical with the ability to organize and distill data as a key driver of rigorous product development and GTM decisions
  • Ability to adapt to technical changes and manage compliance for diverse array of products
  • Ability to remain flexible, calm, and creative in the face of uncertainty
  • Passion for hands-on work and being a force multiplier for forward progress

Compensation Range:  The annual base salary range for this position is $140,000-226,000*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.

*For some positions the pay may be dependent upon the individual's regional location.
