Financial Crimes Risk Investigations supports global financial crimes operations governance and execution of Coinbase’s Anti-Money Laundering regulatory obligations for transaction monitoring and suspicious activity reporting.  FCRI acts in an advisory capacity that provides guidance, training, testing, and updates to procedures.  

Within this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the strategy across Transaction Monitoring Investigations to support the continued efforts to build out a comprehensive AML program.  

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the design and implementation of a comprehensive AML program that aligns with Coinbase’s current and future products, ensuring adherence to the highest regulatory standards while focusing on efficiency, automation, and an optimal customer experience.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of procedures and guidance within the Financial Crime Program.
  • Ensure that the overall Financial Crime Program integrates seamlessly with other governance programs within the organization.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams such as CX Operations, CX Quality Assurance, Compliance Quality Assurance, Internal Audit, Legal, Product & Engineering to ensure alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Detect potential risks and address gaps by implementing controls, new processes, or update guidance to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Provide support with managing case management vendor relationship, design workflows, draft PRDs, and assist in UAT.

What we look for in you:

  • 4+ years experience in Transaction Monitoring
  • 3+ years experience working in project and program management
  • 1+ years experience in crypto industry working on blockchain analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in managing projects and programs with strong stakeholder management skills
  • Strong ability to identify potential issues and formulate effective solutions

Nice to haves:

  • One or more of the following certifications: ACAMS, CCAS, TRM-CI, TRM-ACI
  • Fintech/Startup experience
  • Crypto industry experience

Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
Pay Range:
$96,475$113,500 USD
