This role requires employees to complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

The salary for this role is £26,156 + excellent benefits including outstanding pension

The Role 

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with a range of stakeholders and make a difference to the climate change crisis? Join our team as a Compliance Assistantproviding business services support to our internal stakeholders, and contribute to the future of fusion energy. The Role represents  Business Services Support for the Commercial Function

You will play a pivotal role in offering administration and business service support to ensure compliance with current procurement regulations, UKAEA internal processes and policies  and will work in a collaborative and inclusive team to monitor the department's and UKAEA's compliance to procedures and processes in line with DESNZ requirements and Cabinet Office. You will maintain and update a range of databases and provide administration support across all areas of compliance, services  and  procurement commercial , dealing with a variety of queries that arise.  

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Raising and processing new supplier and sundry requests
  • Providing advice, guidance and support to a range of users across UKAEA
  • Maintenance and management of queries received in the procurement email inbox and from the procurement helpdesk system
  • Undertaking compliance checks on the creation and amendments to vendors
  • Liaison with a number of stakeholders to resolve any invoicing and PO discrepancies
  • Running regular reports and submitting to relevant colleagues in a timely manner
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of compliance activities

Please note, you will be required to work on site on Culham Campus for 2 days a week minimum.

Essential Requirements:

  • 5 GCSEs (two of which must be Maths & English Language)
  • Office based administration experience
  • Demonstrable attention to detail with the ability to adapt depending on business requirements and incoming queries
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel
  • Demonstrable experience working with a multitude of tasks and ability to prioritise effectively
