Mina Foundation serves oversees the Mina Protocol the worlds leading Zero Knowledge Proof powered Layer One Blockchain.

We are looking for a Compensation & Benefits Manager to be responsible for oversight and coordination of payroll and benefits administration for all Mina Foundation Team members.  This includes contractors paid via the Deel platform; Swiss employees paid via local payroll provider; and international employees engaged through EORs.  The C&B coordinator will be the primary point of contact within the Finance organization for external payroll vendors; responsible for maintaining the golden source of employee compensation data (fiat and token salary and grant vesting schedules) and for signing off on monthly salary and token payments.  Additionally, the C&B coordinator will be responsible for ensuring all local Swiss benefits and payroll-related reporting and tax obligations are adhered to, and coordination with the EOR vendor that similar obligations for international employees are being met. 

Requirements

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintain up to date and accurate golden source of all team member salary and token schedules
  • Review and sign-off on all vendor prepared monthly payslips, including verifying accurate token-pricing, taxes, benefits and employer charges.
  • Serve as primary point of contact internally and externally for compensation and benefits related issues
  • Attend weekly meetings with Payroll / EOR vendor (Toku) - ensuring open issues are addressed and coordinated both internally and externally.
  • Partner with the wider Finance & Operations team on matters related to compensation, employee benefits and employer-related tax expenses, forecasts and budgets. 
  • Partner with People Ops on annual compensation reviews, maintaining a golden source of compensation data.
  • Receive correspondence and coordinate with local payroll provider for all local Swiss employee and employer matters related to employee benefits and related tax matters (e.g, Axa, FER-CIAM, Mobiliar, employee at source) with support of People Ops coordinator
  • Yearly salary mass declarations to relevant authorities (Eg: FERCIAM, Mobiliare, LPP) including mid-year checks with support of People Ops coordinator
  • Partner with People Ops on cross-departmental annual salary benchmarking and calibration 
  • To support the strategy and business objectives of the Finance & Operations team and the Foundation, C&B coordinator will:
    • Provide accurate, complete, relevant, and understandable information to the SVP Finance & Operations (internal reporting) and provide support to other business units and departments when needed;
    • Manage external payroll providers, platforms and EORs, ensuring complete alignment with the Foundation’s needs and accurate reporting among all parties. 
    • Review & sign-off on all compensation related payments (fiat and token) each month and coordinate payments with the broader finance team.

  • To support the compliance and risk management processes of the Finance & Operations team and the Foundation, the C&B coordinator will:
    • Set up, review, and optimize the relevant rules, framework, procedures, and workflows respecting all legal and regulatory requirements. It further includes all ethical and good conduct of business principles;
    • Identify, analyze, mitigate, and monitor all risks associated with the conduct of activities of the Foundation and also all trends and evolutions in the regulatory and competitive landscapes;
    • Provide direction in determining how compensation & benefits information will be documented, maintained, and reported.

Qualifications:

  • A degree in Human resources administration, Business administration or similar field with a specified focus on compensation and benefits 
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Compensation & Benefits
  • In-depth understanding of Swiss employer regulatory requirements, statutory reporting.
  • Familiarity with crypto compensation structure and reporting 
  • Experience working in an international environment with multi-jurisdictional exposure

Experience Profile:

  • Proven track record in leading and optimizing compensation & benefits functions within a complex organization particularly within the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry
  • Background in financial & operations processes and reporting within a dynamic environment.
  • Experience liaising with external payroll providers and managing monthly payroll processes across multiple jurisdictions. 
  • A plus is direct experience with current MF providers
