As Community Liaison Manager, your main responsibilities will be to:
- Work as part of the project development team to manage consultation and engagement activity on an expanding portfolio of renewable projects
- Oversee the production and implementation of project communications & engagement plan
- Manage interactions with local communities and other stakeholders from site selection through to construction, to support successful project outcomes
- Deliver clear and concise communications that have the audience in mind, tailoring approach to meet the needs of each project
- Guide project teams on the Statkraft approach to deliver public engagement
- Originate and create communications material for digital and print media
- Manage project website and liaise with digital communications colleagues
- Organise and attend public events such as community meetings, exhibitions and webinars
- Create persuasive messaging and communications for decision-makers and media
- Manage external PR/design consultants to contribute relevant expertise in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Ensure consultation and engagement is carried out in accordance with latest planning policy and legal requirements such as GDPR and Lobbying Act
- Collate community engagement reports to support planning applications
- Act as the interface between the community and project manager to ensure community aspects are being addressed and delivered where possible
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Statkraft’s project development activities through lessons learned processes and knowledge transfer
- Maintain industry knowledge on relevant wider issues, including event attendance
- Attend occasional events across the UK, sometimes in the evening
- Be an advocate for Statkraft and its projects
- Degree level or equivalent within a relevant subject, e.g. Engineering, Environmental, Communications
- Experience in stakeholder engagement on development projects, ideally in renewables
- An understanding of community dynamics and proven ability working with community groups
- Experience in media management at a regional level
- An understanding of the political and regulatory environment
- A team player with strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- Highly computer literate
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and high level of attention-to-detail
- Pro-active, creative and solution-orientated approach to problem solving
- Personable, keen to work in a dynamic team environment
- Strong organisational ability, demonstrated ability to prioritise
- Passionate about the environment and renewable energy
