We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Community Engagement Specialist in the Community Engagement Department.

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR

Reporting to the Community Engagement Director, this position:

  • Represents the Alliance and its programs, services, and operations to community stakeholders
  • Participates in community and member outreach activities and collaboration efforts
  • Supports community engagement and outreach program functions

 

ABOUT THE TEAM

We oversee Alliance programs, services and lines of business in all services areas, as well as act as Alliance liaisons and points of outreach in the Merced, Monterey and Santa Cruz, San Benito and Mariposa communities.

  • Knowledge of:
    • Principles and practices of community outreach and engagement strategies
    • Methods and techniques of effective outreach to underserved populations
    • Research, analysis and reporting methods
    • Customer service
    • Program and project management
  • Ability to:
    • Develop and make presentations and adjust communication style to engage the audience in attendance in order to facilitate collaborations, understanding, and participation in Alliance programs
    • Assist with the development and implementation of projects, systems, programs, policies, and procedures
    • Work and communicate effectively with a diverse member community
    • Interpret, explain and apply processes, policies and procedures
    • Define issues, gather and interpret data, define options, and make recommendations for action
    • Prepare written and oral reports, correspondence, newsletter articles, and other program documents
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Community Health, Social Welfare, Communications or a related field 
    • Three years of experience in a healthcare or social services setting that involved community outreach, performing partnership building with external stakeholders, and making presentations (four years of additional experience may substitute for the Bachelor’s degree); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying

 

OTHER DETAILS

  • While this position is connected to one of our Alliance offices, we are in hybrid remote/in-office work environment right now and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely.
  • Our Alliance office locations have officially re-opened as of May 2, 2022 and while some employees may work in full-time telecommute schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
  • Based on the nature of work, this position may require onsite presence, which is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

 

The full compensation range for this position is listed by location below. 

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

 

Santa Cruz County Pay Range
$67,400$107,848 USD
San Benito County Pay Range
$67,400$107,848 USD

Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
