We have an opportunity to join the Alliance as a Community Engagement Manager in the Community Engagement Department.
ABOUT THE TEAM
We oversee Alliance programs, services and lines of business in all services areas, as well as act as Alliance liaisons and points of outreach in the Merced, Monterey and Santa Cruz, San Benito and Mariposa communities.
This position requires regular weekly in-community presence within the Alliance service counties. You will be expected to be base in or within a commutable distance of our service areas (Santa Cruz, San Benito, Mariposa, Merced, Monterey)
WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Reporting to the Community Engagement Director, this position:
- Manages and leads the Community Engagement function, acts as a subject matter expert, and provides guidance on Community Engagement activities and departmental operations
- Manages and participates in community engagement, outreach activities, and collaborative efforts with community stakeholders
- Provides management oversight of the Community Engagement function
- Manages, supervises, mentors and trains assigned staff
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate for this role is a collaborative leader skilled in project and program management, capable of driving innovative member engagement strategies with a solid understanding of the healthcare industry, including Medi-Cal and Medicaid. They bring expertise in team development, customer service, and training, and excel at multitasking, problem-solving, and adapting to change. Strong communication skills, a knack for analyzing complex regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office enable them to manage diverse projects, foster relationships, and deliver clear insights across the organization.

- Act as a subject matter expert and provide guidance regarding the most complex member outreach and engagement activities
- Develop work plans and workflows and organize and prioritize strategic planning, outreach, and engagement activities
- Develop innovative and creative approaches to member outreach and engagement
- Work and communicate effectively with a diverse member community
- Manage the development and implementation of projects, systems, programs, policies, and procedures
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, organize work, and achieve goals and timelines
- Prepare narrative and statistical written reports, oral reports, correspondence, outreach materials, newsletter articles, and other program documents

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Human Services, Social Science, Social Welfare, Psychology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field and
- A minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in community health education, community relations, public relations or public assistance programs
- Including a minimum of two years of experience related to developing and implementing community outreach and engagement strategies
- And a minimum of two years of supervisory experience
- A Master’s degree may substitute for two years of the required experience); or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be qualifying
OTHER INFORMATION
- We are in a hybrid work environment and we anticipate that the interview process will take place remotely via Microsoft Teams.
- While some staff may work full telecommuting schedules, attendance at quarterly company-wide events or department meetings will be expected.
- In-office or in-community presence may be required for some positions and is dependent on business need. Details about this can be reviewed during the interview process.

The actual compensation for this role will be determined by our compensation philosophy, analysis of the selected candidate's qualifications (direct or transferrable experience related to the position, education or training), as well as other factors (internal equity, market factors, and geographic location).

Available for all regular Alliance employees working more than 30 hours per week. Some benefits are available on a pro-rated basis for part-time employees. These benefits are unavailable to temporary employees while on an assignment with the Alliance.
