We’re looking for a proactive and passionate top-talent communications manager to spearhead US comms at this pivotal time, ensuring Klana is seen as the unmissable investment opportunity it is. Our predominant investor base is in the US, the US is our fastest growing market with a complex media landscape and a fast evolving regulatory environment, so we need to ensure Klarna's narrative is both understood and resonates powerfully with all external stakeholders. This role is crucial for securing strategic coverage in a breadth of important top tier media outlets, shaping our narrative to captivate our target audience, and tactically steering conversations and sentiment to close perceptions gaps about Klarna.

What you will do..

  • Create new and harness existing media connections with top tier print and broadcast outlets as well as podcasts etc to land creative storylines that demonstrate  the success and value of Klarna’s business 
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for brand differentiation.
  • Assist in training Klarna leaders for media opportunities and speaking engagements.
  • Proactively fact check articles to ensure accurate reporting of Klarna and work with journalists and editors on corrections.
  • Defend Klarna’s reputation from misperception by actively seeking out and briefing new and current journalist contacts on our business.
  • Work closely with global internal stakeholders such as product teams, legal, finance etc to find stories to tell and ensure the US audience knows everything that’s going on at Klarna, and vice versa.
  • Work closely with adjacent teams across the business, giving advice on reputational impact if any issues arise and if necessary pushing through changes to they way we operate and work.
  • Ensure the team has correct processes and routines in place to succeed so there is a standardized way of working and high standard of output

Who you are...

  • An experienced (4+ years) media relations nerd, who loves making connections with press, and turning them into tangible, outstanding media results - both proactively and reactively.
  •  A nose for a good story, you can take anything and make headlines and you love to do it. 
  • A driven self-starter, thriving in dynamic, fast-changing settings.
  • Extremely detail-oriented, with a flair for excellent execution in a fast paced environment.
  • Agency experience preferred
