Communications Advisor - (Fixed Term 12 Months)

Job Purpose:

Infrastructure Ontario's communications team is a talented and highly engaged group of professionals who provide creative and diverse support and advice to clients both internally and externally on corporate, project and program communications, marketing, and stakeholder relations. We work collaboratively on strategic communications, corporate branding, and interactions with clients, stakeholders, media, and the public.
 
We are currently looking for a Communications Advisor to execute communications, media relations and client relationships required to proactively plan, implement, and monitor all communications for Real Estate.

What You Will Do:

  • Build constructive relationships across the organization and various levels of government, as well as public and private sector partners, to deliver successful communications programs.
  • Develop and implement Communications strategies for Real Estate to support annual communications planning, a weekly communications calendar and corporate products as required.
  • Develop strategic messaging in collaboration with subject matter experts and respond to media inquiries regarding real estate projects, properties and priorities.
  • Create high quality products for approval by the Manager such as Web updates; Key messages and speaking notes; Communications Summaries, Qs&As and related background materials.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Diploma or degree in communications, public relations or related field. Experience in developing and implementing strategic communications and issues management plans, developing communication products, media response and relations, stakeholder relations.
  • Communications or public relations experience – ideally in a corporate or government setting.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, sound judgement and strong analytical skills.
  • Experience or knowledge of public sector or the construction industry is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and familiarity with social media platforms including Twitter and LinkedIn.

The salary range for this position is $71,300 to $107,000, with a corresponding job level of P3.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, knowledge and experience.
