Communication Specialist

We are seeking a Communication Specialist for an 18-month contract in Nashville, TN.  This role is eligible to work remotely for residents of Tennessee.  This role will lead content creation and community engagement initiatives and drive impactful communication plans aligned with program goals. 

Responsibilities:

Content Creation:
• Create and implement a communication plan aligned with program goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and community partners to design compelling and culturally competent digital and printed materials.
• Update and maintain program websites.
• Develop and implement monthly newsletters, social media campaigns/public service announcements, etc.
• Create and report on indicators that measure communications performance.

Community Engagement:
• Create and develop initiatives involving the community, including stories, interviews, videography, and photography.
• Coordinate communication within the department
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

•  Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, or related field.
• One year of experience in health communications or marketing.
• Proficiency in Canva or other graphic design platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Knowledge of cultural competency and sensitivity in health communication.
• Able to complete and prioritize tasks while working remotely.
• Tennessee resident.

This 18 month contract can work remotely for residents of Tennessee.
