Finance at Brex

The Finance team leads financial planning and analysis as well as corporate development, which includes board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and M&A. We strive to be agents of change rather than a reporting function. We’re integrated and partner closely with teams across Brex to evaluate key questions, solve problems, and drive results. What you’ll do  

As the Commissions Finance Manager, you will be crucial in driving our company's success by ensuring accurate and effective commission structures and payouts for our Sales and Revenue teams. Your work will directly impact our salesforce motivation and productivity, helping us achieve our growth targets. You will join our dynamic Finance team and collaborate with senior leadership across various departments.

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about our business, possesses strong analytical skills, and demonstrates strategic thinking to help optimize our commission processes as we expand. The ideal candidate should thrive in tackling challenges and be adept at addressing complex problems with a high degree of organization and attention to detail. Reporting to the Head of Sales Finance, the Commissions Finance Manager will be a key member of the Finance team, responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our commission structures.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in our Vancouver office. You must be willing to work in office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday, starting the week of January 6th, 2025. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.

Responsibilities 

  • Assist in designing and modeling commission and sales incentive plans
  • Partner with sales management to provide cost-impact solutions and/or opportunities related to commission/incentive designs
  • Own the Captivate IQ strategy, implementation, and reporting of commission/incentive processing policies and procedures
  • Ensure commission and sales incentive payments have been properly processed
  • Prepare monthly commission and sales incentive payment summary reports for management with trend analysis and forecast projections
  • Analyze sales performance data to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on commission-related decisions
  • Act as a liaison within Finance, fostering alignment with the Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to ensure commission accuracy and effectiveness
  • Continuously improve and streamline commission processes to enhance efficiency and transparency
  • Respond to escalated calls regarding complex commission or sales incentive-related processing problems

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree, preferably in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining Captivate IQ
  • 4+ years of relevant finance, commissions, revenue operations, or sales operations experience.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with proven success partnering and collaborating across various functions
  • Experience retrieving and handling large amounts of data in Excel or other database systems
  • Highly self-motivated with a stellar work ethic and strong attention to detail
  • Must be willing to work in office 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday

Bonus points

  • Advanced analytical skills and significant knowledge and understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience working in a SaaS company or other recurring revenue model business
  • Experience with Salesforce and Looker

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $137,600 CAD - $172,000 CAD. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
