Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. We are seeking a Commissioning and start-up Mechanical Lead . The Venture Global Commissioning team is responsible to ensure the safe and efficient pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up and operation of the facility to achieve the plant’s production and performance objectives.
This is a contract position and will be located in Cameron, LA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight of the development, review, and approval of systems completion program for the respective systems, including systemization, inspection and test plans, punch listing, status and records
- Oversight of Contractor’s Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and initial Startup activities of rotating equipment and Mechanical systems in the LNG Facility
- Support Pre-Start-Up / Readiness Reviews (PSSR) and Mechanical systems
- Represent commissioning in project punch listing activities
- Oversees Contractor development, subsequent review and approval of the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up procedures
- Verification that Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) are included in the associated commissioning procedures
- Support rotating equipment and mechanical systems Preservation and Maintenance program
- Primary interfaces include OFE field service advisors, Equipment suppliers, Contractor CSU group, Venture Global construction, engineering, and operations departments
- Implements procedures to deliver the overall safety of the Plant and its personnel
- Implementation of SIMOPs
- Assurance and audit in area(s) of responsibility
- Support site Change Management for area of responsibility
- Lead and require strict adherence to Lock Out / Tag Out Procedures (LOTO), work permits, and company policies
- Track progress of assigned systems and provide completions with timely reports on progress and activities
- Witness commissioning and testing of individual components, systems, as a complete integrated unit to meet all contractual obligations
- Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical from a University or Technical School, and/or job related experience and minimum of 8 of years field execution experience
OR
Minimum 10 years of experience in LNG/Gas Process/Refinery/Petrochemical Industry
- Demonstrated commissioning and start-up experience on major EPC projects with in-depth understanding on drivers such as turbines (gas & steam) and motors, and driven equipment such as generators, compressors and pumps and familiar with associated supporting components/systems such as, couplings, bearings, lubrication and sealing systems (dry gas seals and mechanical seals)
- Experience with structured management of change system
- Experience with computerized completions management systems
- Experience in working with simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) in a major capital project
- Demonstrated Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills across multiple employee levels and outside stakeholders.
- Held responsibility as permit approver in a permit to work system - including LO/TO, inhibit and override, hot work, confined space entry
- Working knowledge of safety and integrity critical equipment and systems, including associated functional testing
- Experience with incident investigation processes (i.e. 5 why, Taproot)
- Understanding of process safety fundamentals
