W Costa Navarino, exclusively for adults and young adults over 12 years old, offers 226 stylish rooms, 2 bedroom suites and 3 bedroom villas with infinity private pools, staged in the Bay of Navarino with stunning Ionian Sea views, The Watersports Center, The Away Spa and gym with a heated 25m-long lap pool, including the new Navarino Agora, an open marketplace with retail, street food, open-air cinema and exciting programming throughout the day and night.

Navarino Dunes is looking for a Commis Chef. The selected candidate will adhere to hygiene protocols and brand standards at all times. They will possess a thorough knowledge of the menu and promptly inform supervisors of any discrepancies or damage. The candidate will complete tasks within established quality standards and timeframes, ensuring their work area and refrigerators are maintained in a clean and organized manner.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all company policy procedures related to food preparation, receipt, storage and handling
  • Full knowledge of the menu, its recipes, its production methods and the presentation of the dishes according to the company's brand standards
  • Quality control of raw materials and specifications
  • Operation: Presentation and listing of recipes according to brand standards
  • Attendance of all trainings and seminars provided by the company and up-to-date knowledge on materials and procedures
  • Ability to complete responsibilities correctly and consistently within the time frames we have set for completing departmental goals
  • Knowledge and adherence to meal preparation procedures for allergies and dietary habits

Requirements

  • Previous culinary internship experience.
  • Degree from IEK or a Culinary School (2 years).
  • Fluent in Greek and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of raw materials, recipes, and dish presentation.
  • Skilled in executing standard recipes with accuracy and consistency.
  • Proficient in identifying allergens in raw materials and recipes.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and internet navigation.
  • Experienced in the proper operation and management of kitchen equipment and machinery.
  • Familiar with HACCP procedures and experienced in completing relevant documentation.
  • Knowledgeable in basic cutting techniques and cooking methods.
  • Skilled in baking techniques and understanding cooking grades.
  • Capable of managing inventory, including warehouse stock and refrigerators, within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Proficient in all fundamental hot and cold kitchen techniques.
