We are seeking a pivotal role in our company, a Commercial Project Manager. The Commercial Project Manager is responsible for managing commercial aspects of projects from inception through completion. This role involves budgeting, risk management, stakeholder communication, contract management, and ensuring that projects meet financial targets and compliance requirements. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will be working closely with the project team, clients, vendors, and senior management to drive successful outcomes and maximise profitability.
In this role, you will support a wide range of activities within the commercial operations workflow(s) at Prevail. Your responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and manage project budgets, including cost estimation, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Monitor expenditures to ensure they remain within approved budgets.
- Provide financial analysis and reports to stakeholders, including profit margin analysis and cost-benefit analysis.
- Ensure financial targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
- Support negotiating, drafting, and managing project contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Support the legal department with contract modifications, disputes, and settlements.
- Maintain clear records of all contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Support the drafting and review of contracts, including subcontracts, MSAs, NDAs, and agreements with external partners such as subcontractors and senior advisors across various regions.
- Collaborate with the legal team to ensure contract terms are compliant with local and international regulations.
- Identify potential project risks, specifically financial and legal risk.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers and ensure timely delivery of services.
- Facilitate procurement processes by requesting purchase orders and other relevant procurement documentation
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, legal, and finance.
- Act as the a point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate with the Project teams to support the end-to-end delivery of proposals and bids, ensuring cross-functional teams across different regions meet deadlines and adhere to processes.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of proposals and pricing calculators to ensure they meet internal standards and align with compliance and governance protocols.
- Partner with the executive team to obtain risk and budget approvals, ensuring alignment with both regional and company-wide business objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or MBA would be advantageous.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in commercial project management or related roles. Ideally within a security, risk management and/or defence sector.
- Strong financial acumen and experience with project budgeting and cost control.
- Experience with contract management and negotiation.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana, Jira).
- PMP or Prince2 certification is desirable but not required.
- Experience in risk management and strategic thinking.
