Primary Function of Position
The Senior Sales Trainer will develop, create and deliver content in training classes and sales meetings, in an effort to improve the knowledge and skills of sales representatives. The Senior Sales Trainer works closely with colleagues in many departments including Sales Training, Clinical Education, Field Sales and Sales Management, and Marketing to create and execute our training strategy to address the needs of the ISI Sales Team
Roles and Responsibilities
Sales
• Creation of agenda, curricula and training materials for all Clinical and Sales Training at Intuitive Surgical
• Presentation/Delivery and support of technical and sales material including: selling skills, sales management training, presentation skills, and product sales presentation
• Sales competency identification and program development to competencies in tandem with education and human resources
• Creation of written, video-based and on-line sales education for instructor-led and distance learning deployment
Clinical
• Demonstrate understanding of “Best Practices” across four key specialties: general surgery, gynecologic surgery cardiac surgery, and urology
• Understanding of education modules as part of the Clinical and Sales Training (CAST) programs, Distributor CAST (DCAST), sales meetings and other training events
Technical
• Understanding of “Best Practices” for da Vinci® Surgical System pre, intra and postoperative management
• Educate personnel and conduct customer in-services on the da Vinci®, da Vinci® S, da Vinci® Si and da Vinci® Xi Surgical Systems
• Thorough understanding of da Vinci® surgical systems (including instruments and accessories) and value propositions
Administrative
• Forecast annual programs to meet organization growth
• Measure effectiveness of training programs and develop reports and comprehensive programs analysis
Core Competencies, Skills and Experience Requirements
• Minimum 3+ years of Sales/Sales management experience preferably in medical device field
• Minimum 1+ years of Training experience preferred
• Good knowledge of surgical procedures preferred
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of human anatomy, physiology and terminology
• Proficiency in MS office
• Ability for up to 20% travel for sales training events, both domestically and internationally
Education and Training Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
• Master’s Degree or equivalent training experience a plus
