POSITION SUMMARY:    The Commercial Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe operation of commercial vehicles and equipment, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products to customers and businesses while providing exceptional customer service. This role includes reviewing orders before delivery, loading and unloading shipments using a forklift, electric pallet jack, pallet jack, hand truck, or other material handling equipment, and completing all necessary paperwork. Additional responsibilities include performing warehouse duties as needed and maintaining the cleanliness and proper operation of delivery vehicles. The driver must adhere to all safety procedures, comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and maintain valid DOT and Commercial Driver License (CDL) certifications. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Delivering (75%):
  • Conducts inspection of vehicle and equipment before and after delivery trips and submits required report(s) indicating vehicle and equipment condition. 
  • Ensures accurate completion of DOT checklist and reports maintenance problems and accidents in a timely manner in accordance with DOT regulations and with Company policies and procedures. 
  • Packs, secures, loads, and unloads vehicle utilizing a variety of equipment, i.e., forklift, pallet jack, dolly, hand truck, etc., in accordance with our Company’s specifications and safety practices prior to departing.
  • Review orders and planned delivery routes before departure to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and timely fulfillment.
  • Deliver products to customers and businesses as scheduled, maintaining expected delivery time frames and ensuring the timely submission of all required paperwork and invoices.
  • Operates vehicles and equipment in a safe, lawful, and responsible manner.
  • Utilizes vehicles and equipment efficiently to ensure cost effectiveness.
  • Builds and develops strong relationships with retailers by providing consistent, courteous, and excellent customer service while delivering goods in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment receive routine performance maintenance as required.

  • Warehousing (25%):
  • Load and unload products onto and off delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Picks and builds customer orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Company specifications.
  • Loads and unloads goods (i.e., raw materials, supplies, and products) from ocean and air containers efficiently and safely as needed.
  • Load, transport, and/or store finished goods and other items in designated areas as needed.
  • Assist with scanning and other inventory tasks as needed.
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with driving laws, regulations, and DOT requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring timely and professional product deliveries while executing all assigned responsibilities.
  • Perform additional work-related duties as needed.
  • Assist with warehouse operations, deliveries, and other assigned tasks as required.
  • Regular attendance is required for the position.
  • EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Valid Hawaii CDL (Class A or Class B) with a clean driver’s abstract and a valid DOT physical card.
  • 1-2 years of commercial driving and warehouse experience. 
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to operate delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment such as, but not limited to forklift, pallet jack, scanning equipment, hand truck, etc. 
  • Strong customer service skills with a professional and courteous demeanor.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
