Position Summary:

Mirai Bio is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic co-op to join the Nucleic Acids Process Development team. This person will contribute to design, production, and characterization of mRNA for lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery.  They will work cross-functionally to advance the Mirai’s platform. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with leading edge, dedicated, innovative scientists in industry!

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the sequence design of mRNA for LNP encapsulation.
• Perform biochemical and biophysical mRNA characterization assays.
• Screen in vitro transcription (IVT) reaction and purification conditions for production of high-quality mRNA.
• Implement programmable liquid handler robotics in a high-throughput workflow.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization.
• Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks.
• Present findings to cross-functional teams.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. candidate in biochemistry, chemistry, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Strong laboratory skills, including safety practices, buffer preparation, and using automation.
• Being motivated, curious, and comfortable working independently and cross-functionally.
• Capable of conveying technical information in a clear and thorough manner.
• Competence with Excel and PowerPoint.
