We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a global organisation offering excellence in manufacturing solutions for the aerospace market.

We are presenting an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly meticulous CNC Programmer Manufacturing Engineer to join the team based in Romford.

The CNC Programmer Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimising CNC programmes, processes, and methods to produce complex components with high precision and efficiency.

You will interpret engineering drawings and create CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software (GibbsCAM). You will be highly capable in machine tool and cutting tool specification and applications with knowledge of precision engineering processes including general machining.

In addition to programming, you will be tasked with improving manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout. You will determine the required materials and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.

Requirements

  • Proven experience within a similar role, ideally within the aerospace sector.
  • Educated in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace) to degree / HNC / HND level or equivalent.
  • Proficient use of CAD/CAM Software to generate 3D models and production of CNC Programmes (GibbsCAM is preferred.)
  • Previous use and experience of SOLIDWORKS.
  • Knowledge of Aerospace requirements particularly operating to AS9100 is desirable.
  • Ability to methodically measure, analyse and present capital opportunities to promote breakthrough unconventional techniques.
  • Knowledge of precision engineering processes including general machining (milling and turning).
  • Highly capable in machine tool and cutting tool specification and application.
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Able to work on own initiative within a high-pressure environment.
  • Able to work within tight time scales whilst maintaining and promoting quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills.
