Position Overview:

The CMM Programmer is responsible creating programs for medium-complex parts using PC-DMIS software and developing appropriate in-process manual inspections and optimizing final inspection strategy by working in collaboration with CAM programming, Quality Inspectors and Machinists. The ideal candidate will have experience creating complex programs, knowledge of metrology and have experience developing and maintaining quality inspection procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reliably program tight tolerance aerospace parts while hitting aggressive production timelines.
  • Consistently and reliably own the quality process of assigned jobs. This includes partnering with CAM programming on a manufacturing strategy, developing the appropriate in-process manual inspections and optimizing the final inspection strategy for prototyping or high-volume production applications.
  • Troubleshoot CMM issues on multiple production parts to assure adherence to specifications and quality standards.
  • In proveout phases, be an effective thought partner with Machining and Programming to influence manufacturing strategy modifications with the right data and production intuitions.
  • Write effective, clear and standardized work instructions for technicians to be able to perform CMM and Manual Inspections. This includes designing user-friendly fixtures with minimal room for error (i.e. using jigs) for operator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to create CMM program for complex parts with tight tolerances using PC-DMIS.
  • Knowledgeable of various quality system measuring devices including video and contact CMMs, CMM software applications such as PC-DMIS, handheld gages, and color measuring equipment (i.e., Spectrophotometers, Spectroradiometers), 3D Scanning and post-scan analysis software
  • Accurate in the processing of data and information, record keeping, and tabulating.
  • Knowledge of metrology problem solving in AS9100 environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PC-DMIS programming certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in CMM programming and quality.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing.

 ITAR REQUIREMENTS:
