Costa Navarino Cluster Sales Team is looking for the next Cluster Director of Sales, MICE. In this exciting role, in conjunction with the Cluster Director of Sales, the holder of this position plans, directs and manages the implementation of MICE sales strategy and is responsible for achieving budgeted revenues.

The Cluster Director of Sales, Mice directs, and supervises the daily activities of MICE Sales team, ensuring that the activities of all team members are aligned with hotel strategy and that facilities and services are sold according to agreed budgeted guidelines.

The role is responsible for maximizing profitability for the hotels and ensuring delivery of outstanding quality service for all customers. This position is responsible for the development of new business within the MICE segment as well as maintenance of existing accounts to ensure maximum performance.

Main duties:

  • In conjunction with the Cluster Director of Sales and Cluster Revenue Director, plan the annual MICE Sales budget and be responsible for communicating the budget to the MICE Sales team.
  • Set annual revenue targets to all direct salespeople, ensuring that they are clear on their revenue target and have a planned strategy to achieve or exceed their goals.
  • Lead the MICE team to ensure the efficient daily operation, covering all aspects of the department including sales, RFPs development, communication, negotiation, contracting and accurate handover to Events Team.
  • Keep close overview of RFPs process to ensure excellent service and build customer loyalty.
  • Manage a number of key accounts/key prospects to ensure maximum yield. Attend trade shows and sales calls ensuring high Brand awareness and that every opportunity is taken to promote the Resort.
  • Monitor “need dates” and in conjunction with the Cluster Director of Sales and Cluster Revenue Director, setup and update group selling strategies.
  • Prepare MICE pipeline and forecasting reports on weekly basis for the Cluster Director of Sales and Cluster Revenue Director. Develop and execute the annual MICE Sales Plan, ensuring that all team members’ sales activities support customer satisfaction, retention, and new business development goals.
  • Ensure understanding of feeder markets’ trends and competitors’ activities for development of strategies ensuring property success.
  • Recruit, manage, train, and develop the MICE Sales team including appraisals and disciplinary where required. Monitor the appearance, standards, and performance of MICE Sales Team with an emphasis on teamwork and compliance to Costa Navarino principles and procedures. Ensure team members have an up-to-date knowledge of Resort’s inventory, meeting spaces and F&B venues. Conduct annual PMP for all direct reports, ensuring that pre-agreed goals are achieved. Where required, identify appropriate development actions.
  • Develop and maintain active communication and close rapport with MICE organizers, Marriott GSOs and other sources of sales. Liaise with the Marketing team for the production of MICE promotional material, response forms etc.
  • Operate within departmental budgets through effective cost controls and well managed schedules.
  • Any other duty as directed by the Cluster Director of Sales.
  • Follow all H&S rules, hotel policies, SOPs, and Brand Standards at all times. Guide and encourage team to do the same.
  • Attend all trainings and seminars provided by the company and continuously remain updated for all trends and market news.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc) - (additional education in sales & marketing fields preferred)
  • At least 4 years of managerial experience in similar position
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills; must be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and team members
  • Strong communication skills Spoken, Written and Email
  • Ability to appreciate “the big picture”, whilst having a talent for detail & an inherent thoroughness in task approach, follow-up & completion
  • Excellent organizational/administrative skills to manage and motivate the MICE team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload
  • Ability to multi-task & work under pressure
  • Ability to inspire confidence & gain credibility with senior management
  • Ability to maintain complete confidentiality at all times
  • High degree of personal loyalty & integrity
  • Team player
  • Fluent in English language, verbal and written. Second foreign language is considered a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) / Proficiency in Opera S&C / Fully capable of utilizing online tools for RFPs
  • Possess professional grooming
