Cloud Platform Engineer

A key part of this transformation is our Cloud Platform Team, which is redefining our platform, scaling our international business, and shaping our team's working practices.

By focusing on DevEx, we empower our engineers to be self-sufficient, innovative and push the boundaries of our product offerings.

We are always looking for ways to innovate, collaborate, work faster, and be more efficient without compromising on quality and merchant experience. As a Cloud Platform Engineer, you will bring new ideas to our platform design, including monitoring, availability, observability, and security. One of your key projects will be building our new platform in GCP, and we value your insights on how to achieve this.

• A love for improving systems and processes, especially through automation.
• A data-driven mindset, with familiarity in using data, metrics, and visualizations to identify and communicate problems and opportunities.

Interview process

1. Screening call with Internal Recruiter – Chess (30-45 mins)
2. Video interview with Hiring Manager, this will be tech focused – Dave (1 hour)
3. Interview with the Engineering Team (1 hour)

We think you’ll need:

• Proven experience designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure that supports a fast pace of change
• Experience working in Google Cloud Platform or Azure
• Proven experience working with Development Teams, setting up and promoting shared platform ownership
• Experience writing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform - general coding experience would be great, too
• Experience advocating for DevOps and SRE best practices across a technology organisation (familiarity with DORA, Accelerate, and the State of DevOps Reports would be ideal!)
