Role description
To strengthen our Cloud & Data Platform team, we are looking for a curious, experienced, and open-minded colleague who wants to take the next career step with us and is interested in long-term development.
Your areas of responsibility
- Deeply understand the way backend software is developed across teams and iteratively find the leanest way to improve the process.
- Maintain and further improve the technical foundation and infrastructure of our services.
- Align ‘infrastructure as code’ approaches across teams.
- Contribute in shaping the system boundaries of our cloud services.
- Own and improve our log management and monitoring systems.
- Define and improve engineering guidelines and best practices, and finding ways of spreading this to the different teams.
As of today, we are using the following technologies: Kotlin; TypeScript; Docker; CI/CD tooling; SQL & NoSQL databases; AWS; Github (Copilot) and Google Workspace for collaboration.
Requirements
- You are conscientious, used to taking initiative over receiving directions, and can manage your time and focus.
- You are very strong in explaining complex topics in English, appropriately tailoring your delivery according to your audience.
- You actively search for opportunities to improve yourself, the working process, your team collaboration, and feedback mechanisms.
- You have strong communication skills and find it easy to proactively connect to other people and exchange arguments.
- Experience in designing high-load zero downtime deployments for JVM-based applications.
- Experience with rapidly iterating on and scaling services running in cloud production environments.
- At least 5 years of experience with most of the topics in our daily business (see above).
