Cloud Architect / Engineer Coreless Banking

In Avaloq's R&D Lab, we design and develop the first coreless banking modules, shaping the future of banking technology. You will be surrounded by smart, highly capable people who are passionate about building the next generation of innovative coreless banking modules. The focus is on modular design, extreme scalability, and cost-efficiency throughout all module lifecycles. Our first module focuses on investment performance, with upcoming modules potentially including the main banking booking engine, securities administration, and tax modules.

We are now looking for a skilled Cloud Architect (or Senior Cloud Engineer) to join our mission.

Your key tasks:

• Design and shape cloud architecture blueprints and technology stacks for coreless banking modules.
• Drive the development, testing, and optimization of cloud-native solutions, ensuring high scalability and performance.
• Manage AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless cloud integration and API-driven designs.
• Lead and implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
• Analyze technical requirements and provide solutions that meet cloud architecture and security standards.
• Conduct cloud architecture reviews and performance assessments, continuously optimizing for cost-efficiency and scalability.
• Support and mentor junior cloud engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Your expertise:

• Deep expertise in AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, and other cloud-native technologies.
• Proven hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing large-scale cloud infrastructures.
• Proficiency in cloud-based development, with a focus on high availability, security, and cost-efficiency.
• Expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization (e.g., Docker), and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with multiple programming languages and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Strong understanding of cloud security, monitoring, and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor others.
