The Clinical Manager, in the absence of the Director, assumes responsibility for the overall operation of the unit, with adherence to policies, procedures, and budget. The Clinical Manager will help to improve the quality for patient care delivered by using advanced level of nursing skill, knowledge and expertise to ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.
Responsibilities
- Plans and facilitates a variety of activities to improve the level of knowledge, performance, skill and competence of the nursing staff in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and standards of nursing practice defined in the professional literature.
- Provides direct care to patients of all relevant age-specific categories with complex or unusual needs in order to ensure that safe and effective care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures and standards of nursing practice.
- Provides and helps to oversee patient, family and community education in order to position the hospital as an essential community resource.
- Develops, implements, audits for compliance use of policies, procedures, and standards of care to promote the delivery of safe, efficient and cost effective care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Participates, assess, develops, and implements performance improvement activities to support organizational outcomes in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, best practices, and standards of nursing practice defined in the professional literature and evidence based care.
- Role models expert nursing behavior and leadership. Works to oversee unit and staff performance/educational needs as identified by overall individual and unit outcomes.
- Executes a plan for own professional development.
- Assumes a leadership role in development of Departmental goals and direction consistent with LMH vision and strategic plan.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Registered Nurse license.
- Associates or diploma.
- Current BLS certification.
- Four years of experience.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
- Master’s Degree, Nursing preferred, completion 3-5 years.
