Client Asset Lead

This role is key to making sure we look after our customers' money and assets every step of the way. CASS compliance, governance and oversight is part of the fabric of Tembo. We want you to bring your experience, creativity, initiative and positive energy to help make it all happen.

  • Ensure adherence and operational compliance with FCA's CASS rules to safeguard client assets and money, included the timely and accurate completion of CASS reconciliations.

  • Implementation, design and maintenance of robust operational CASS controls.

  • Support projects and new product launches, providing CASS guidance. 

  • Provide strategic and technical advice on CASS compliance to business and support functions while promoting regulatory awareness

  • Review existing controls, remediating gaps, supporting new growth initiatives and helping to design and set the standard for a Tembo-wide approach to applying Safeguarding.

  • Oversight and completion of the monthly CMAR report to the FCA.

  • Focus on continuous improvement, identifying and acting upon opportunities to enhance compliance, efficiency, and client service in all CASS-related activities and for new product launches

  • Ensure that client money received, withdrawn and paid out happens in adherence with both CASS and HMRC regulations. 

  • Oversight and approval of daily client money and custody asset reconciliations

  • Maintain the CASS resolution pack and other key documents and reports

  • Keep process, procedure and policy documentation up to date. 

  • Key point of contact for the CASS audit. 

And anything else that helps to build Tembo’s  business and protect client money and assets

  • 5+ years experience in a Client Money role

  • Knowledge of CASS regulations and experience within a CASS Oversight function 

  • Great attention to detail - diligent, proactive and will persevere to get to the root cause of issues. 

  • Hands on (to start with at least) - a doer not a delegator!

  • You’ve felt the buzz of a startup environment before, or are keen to for the first time

  • You’re a self-starter with an ownership mentality & strong organisation

  • You’re able to work in fast changing, constantly evolving environment and deliver within tight deadlines

  • You’ll bring positive energy and drive that embraces the twists and turns of a start-up environment

  • You’re comfortable working outside of rigid structures and frameworks

  • You have great English language skills (written and oral) and you’re a great communicator

UK wide – our office is based in London Bridge. We would like to see you in the office to get you set-up - but this is a remote-based role.
