DOF Group Legal serves the DOF Group ASA as well as all group companies worldwide. The Legal department currently consists of more than 19 highly skilled professionals located in Bergen, Aberdeen, Perth, Houston and Rio de Janeiro. We are strengthening the Corporate Legal function to provide strategic guidance and support across the group functions and business segments.

The position is placed within the insurance function, being a part of the Legal department. The main responsibility for the insurance function is to ensure that the company`s assets are well protected. As DOF is such a diverse company, we manage a very diverse insurance portfolio making your daily role variable and exciting.

In your position as Claims & Contract Manager, you will assist the Group Legal & Insurance Manager and render support to the Claims and Contract team with the day-to-day business working closely with the different DOF companies and our insurers to ensure an overall smooth insurance process. You will be responsible for all claims related to our Norwegian fleet. The position also includes review and advise on contract insurance clauses in vessel charter contracts as well as more complex subsea services contracts.

You will work with internal and external parties in Norway and abroad.

Requirements

  • We believe you have a genuine interest in our business and the insurance industry, are customer oriented, structured and can take commercial responsibility on a senior level. You have an open mind and a flexible approach to work tasks as well as a great sense for what to priorities and when
  • Your educational background is preferably in law with specialization in marine insurance, maritime- and contract law. Minimum 5-10 years of relevant working experience from the wider maritime industry would be an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Deep knowledge within several subject areas and ability to lead work of high complexity
  • An understanding of the shipping and offshore industry
  • Good communication skills – internally and externally – verbal and written, in both English and a Scandinavian language

Office location is Marineholmen, Bergen. (This position will require occasional travel between Storebø/Bergen office).
