Claim Support Advisor

Are you ready to rethink your routine? We’re looking for a Claim Support Advisor to join our Product Innovation team. As Claim Support Advisor, you will work across NPD (New Product Development) and EPD (Existing Product Development) projects to deliver the claim substantiation and communication of product claims across skincare and colour categories as per our NPD timings. This role will work closely with our Brand, Regulatory and Technical teams to ensure formulas are designed to deliver the required product efficacy and that the right testing is carried out and scientific rationales prepared to substantiate the product claims. In addition, the Claim Support Advisor will work closely with the Product Marketing team to ensure product claims are translated correctly across marketing content and communications.

The Role 
Your daily to-dos might look like this:

CLAIMS

  • Work with Brand and R&D to ensure formulas are designed to maximise product claims 
  • Design claims testing approaches and create scientific rationales to ensure products have global complaint claim substantiation
  • Understand business objectives to be able to focus efforts where there is most value (concepts/tec/formulas)
  • Create portfolio of claims per products/actives 
  • Manage the Claims Matrix Process/Claims risk acceptance

STORY/TOOLKIT - inc markets & channels 

  • Review our social channels documenting and validating technical and scientific insights generated from interviews with Trinny and other experts.
  • Manage and build an ingredient story and efficacy database to aid in the development of new products, claim substantiation and ingredient story communication
  • Prepare and input into presentations to support the team in gate approvals and product presentations

STAKEHOLDERS

  • Communication with key internal partners, Brand, Regulatory
  • Ability to plan work according to priorities
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams (marketing, NPD, operations, and regulatory) for product launch strategies and execution - toolkit finalisation with all key commercial teams involved
  • Perform other assigned reasonable projects and functions by management
  • Have a keen awareness of worldwide innovations, trends, consumer feedback and competitor activity both in mass and prestige
  • Build and use global external networks e.g. CTPA, CE, PCPC to influence/brief business by market competitive and risk assessed claims
  • Create innovative solutions for complex claims problems
  • Have a strong understanding of claims in the market, claims regulations and best practice for evidence, proposes fact based and risk -based (where appropriate) solutions to more complex claims support requests
  • Can highlight opportunities for innovative claims, with strong rationales
  • Can analyse complex data, regs, determine key facts

Requirements

These skills will help you go far in this role:

  • 5+ years experience in a technical/ scientific communications role
  • Passionate about skincare and beauty
  • BSc in Biology or Chemistry is required; MSc desirable
  • Experience in discussing and communicating scientific concepts.
  • Good understanding of global claims regulatory guidelines and their applications in each region and regulatory implications.
  • A successful track record of effectively/appropriately prioritising and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong and positive working relationships across diverse teams and be able to facilitate discussions and decision making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to assimilate clinical and scientific information and present it in a concise manner.
  • Ability to think creatively and good excellent problem-solving skills.
