Civil/Mechanical Engineering I (Gas/Utility)

Milhouse is currently looking for our next future leader! The Gas Engineering I role will be critical in supporting our gas utility clients and will be managing pipeline projects and participating in project scoping, cost estimates, providing guidance for design plans, material selection, constructability and calculations.

Daily Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Manage gas design projects to find the optimal placement for gas distribution lines
  • Manage and track the project schedules to meet client expectations
  • Understand client standards and maintain a high level of quality in adherence to those standards
  • Communicate effectively with clients, municipalities, consultants, etc on a daily basis to coordinate projects and design requirements

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited college
  • 1-2 years of professional experience; experience with utilities is a plus
  • Experience with Nicor Gas is advantageous
  • Experience using AutoCAD 2018/2019
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Must be adaptable to new concepts and have the ability to learn them quickly
  • Familiarity with reading and interpreting civil/transportation design plans
