Civil Design Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Comprehension of engineering principles, codes, and standards in civil land development design, including site layout, grading, erosion control, storm sewer, water, sanitary sewer, and roadway design.
  • Possesses basic technical writing skills needed for civil reports and letters.
  • Ability to work within your own team as well as other internal teams and clients.   
  • Draft plans using AutoCAD and Civil3D software.
  • Adjust and correlate data, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a detailed processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of improvement plans, specifications, supporting documents, and permit applications for subdivisions, commercial developments, multifamily developments, and public works projects.
  • Participate in the preparation of calculations, such as stormwater/drainage analysis, wastewater system analysis, water system analysis, earthwork quantities, transportation, cost estimating, and other supporting documentation for land development projects.
  • Takes an active role in new business development by performing quality production work with collaboration, attention to detail, and responsiveness.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor of Engineering from a four-year, board-approved engineering curriculum.

Experience

  • Typically, 2-4 years of experience.
  • Possesses Engineering Intern certification or can take the Fundamentals of Engineering exam within six months of hire.

The estimated starting base salary for this role is $72,000 - $85,000
