The Circulation Services Specialist I staffs the library front desk and handles check-in/checkout of library materials, answers
patron questions, and provides technical assistance. He/she/they oversees library operations during evening and weekend
shifts when no other staff members are present including the supervision of student graduate assistants.
Core Responsibilities:
- Staffs the front desk and handles check-in and checkout of library materials. Assists library patrons with questions.
- Provides technical assistance to patrons including troubleshooting of computer and printer problems.
- Oversees library operations during evening and weekend shifts when no other staff members are present.
- Supervises student staff when their direct supervisor is not present.
- Actively participates in Monterey and Vermont-based library team meetings and projects.
- Assists with interlibrary loan and course reserve processing.
Requirements
Position Prerequisites:
- BA or equivalent required
- Strong computing skills including experience with Microsoft Office, Adobe, and Google tools
- Experience with computers and printers
- Customer service experience
- Strong organizational skills
Physical Demands:
- This is a part-time, on-campus position.
- Shared participation in evening and weekend hours is required.
- The work is mostly sedentary and includes no special physical demands. It may involve some walking, standing, bending, pushing or carrying light items.
