POSITION SUMMARY 
This highly anticipated Chief of Staff role serves as a tactical right-hand to the CEO of Elevate Power, Matthew Wenger, so he and the rest of the executive team can effectively fulfill their commitments and operate at the highest level. This role is where the operational expert will thrive, working very closely with the CEO and other stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, execution, and delivery of strategic priorities and projects as the firm continues to rapidly scale. The Chief of Staff will serve as the organizational “glue,” relying on their exceptional facilitation skills to propel initiatives forward and ensure proper communication flows with internal and external stakeholders. 
 
The role is great for a tenacious self-starter who is passionate about making a difference as an implementer and operator while possessing the personal characteristics to promote integration, values, and culture across the company. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in prioritization, organizational dynamics, project management, facilitation, change management, and creating scalable systems and processes. 
 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Chief of Staff’s responsibilities will encompass three primary areas: 

Build and manage the daily operations of the executive office

  • Identify and implement the proper systems and structures to allow for efficient executive office operations 
  • Create sustainability and continuity of executive office systems and processes 
  • Manage reporting and communications deliverables, systems, and processes from the shop floor to the boardroom, ensuring quality and cadence through automation of information and communication 
  • Ensure CEO’s time is properly rationalized and spent in the appropriate areas of focus 

Set and monitor Key Objectives on behalf of the CEO

  • Facilitate the company’s strategic planning processes 
  • Project manage strategic projects on behalf of the CEO; create detailed project plans, anticipate obstacles; keep trains running without CEO  
  • Execute projects by translating into actionable steps, gaining buy-in, and project managing to completion  
  • Track performance, research new solutions, and escalate progress or issues, when necessary  
  • Attend key meetings and events with the principal; ensure timely follow-up of all action items 

Facilitate cross-functional integration

  • Maintain a collaborative and highly cohesive team aligned toward the same goals and strategic agenda 
  • Work closely with the team leaders to promote strong communication and collaboration between CEO and team as well amongst each other; bring clarity, consistency, and cadence where needed, implementing systems where appropriate 
  • Partner with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of projects and activities 

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of professional work experience; experience and success in renewable energy, private equity, M&A, and/or management consulting is a plus 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to listen attentively and interact with the highest level of executive-level leadership and build rapport with internal and external partners 
  • Robust knowledge of change management and operational systems, structures, and methodologies of working with a collective team and executive office  
  • Strong project management skills with experience managing complex cross-functional projects, including developing, coordinating, and sharing plans and deliverables in an effective manner  
  • Comfort and experience with overseeing performance tracking through OKR framework 
  • Ability to operate and multi-task in a fast-paced environment  
  • Solid business acumen: understanding key leadership and managerial attributes to lead projects from end-to-end with multiple stakeholders involved 
  • Excellent technology awareness, especially as it relates to automation of corporate process 
  • Self-starter and quick learner with a strong sense of urgency and follow-through 
  • Ability to understand and anticipate a principal’s needs and act on them without direction 
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to work closely and effectively with a diverse group of backgrounds 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with experience communicating effectively at an executive level  
  • Analytical and data-driven with a bias towards taking action to improve key metrics 
  • Solid financial acumen and knowledge of budgeting is a plus 

SALARY 
$175,000—$200,000
