The role
We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer to join Plum in our London office to drive our financial performance, oversee our expansion, and play a vital role in product innovation and strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead Plum's financial strategy and operations across a global landscape, navigating the intricacies of a fintech environment.
What You Will Do
Growth and Revenue Enhancement:
- Strategically manage financial aspects to amplify growth, revenue, and margin expansions.
- Own gross margin and drive decisions to enhance the margin while expanding ARPU
- Be a strong contributor to strategic direction of the business and product opportunity
- Embrace and champion our mission to transform the financial landscape, enabling more accessible financial success globally.
Product Evaluation and Strategic Decision-Making:
- Work closely with product to put more rigor around analyzing new product launches, considering the trade off in terms of growing the product org vs potential new revenue.
- Collaborate with product teams to ensure there is clear understanding of margin and enhance measuring the financial impact of the work
Marketing Spend Optimisations:
- Work along side marketing to evaluate marketing spend efficiency and be a strategic partner on budget allocation.
- Explore cost effective financing strategies finance larger acquisition budgets
Capital Raising:
- Lead fundraising efforts and use of financial instruments to expand business operations.
- Manage the board and be the first touch point of contact for investor queries and monthly reporting.
Build a global financial organization:
- Build and oversee a global finance function, managing 6 regulated entities across all our jurisdictions and all relevant team members
- Ensure consistent and efficient finance operations, reporting and yearly audits! Be very data savvy and comfortable and be able to build the tech solution to run an automated finance functoni
- Be the owner of our regulatory capital and reporting requirements.
Requirements
What We Look For
- Proven experience in the fintech or financial services industry.
- Demonstrated ability to run a finance function across multiple locations.
- History of significantly growing a business's revenue by 3 to 5 times during tenure, contributing to the overall growth and success of the organization.
- Track record of intellectual curiosity and impact beyond the finance function in previous roles.
- Ready for the fast-paced, dynamic environment of a startup with a vision to change how people manage their money.
