Chief Architect

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Architect to lead our architectural strategy at a Private Equity-backed cloud technology company. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in running tiger teams of multi-disciplined engineers, with a strong emphasis on cloud architecture, service-oriented architecture (SOA), and software architecture. Expertise in AWS is essential, and experience in AI/ML and regulated industries will be considered a significant advantage.

What your impact will look like here:

  • Architectural Leadership: Develop and implement the overall architectural strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
  • Team Management: Lead tiger teams composed of multi-disciplined engineers specializing in cloud architecture, SOA, and software architecture. Foster a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-wide architecture frameworks, standards, and policies to support scalable and sustainable technology solutions.
  • Cloud Architecture: Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and efficient cloud solutions, leveraging AWS technologies to their fullest potential.
  • Service-Oriented Architecture: Oversee the development and integration of service-oriented solutions that enhance interoperability and reusability across the organization.
  • Software Architecture: Ensure robust and scalable software architecture practices are in place, guiding the development of high-quality, maintainable software products.
  • AI/ML Integration: Collaborate with AI/ML experts to incorporate advanced analytics and machine learning models into the company’s technology stack, enhancing product offerings and operational efficiencies.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all architectural solutions meet the necessary regulatory and compliance requirements, particularly in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technological solutions.
  • Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, promoting continuous improvement and innovation within the architecture team.
  • Mentor and guide architects and senior developers within the organization, promoting best practices in architecture design and implementation.
  • Review and approve major architectural designs to ensure compliance with internal standards and the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Investigate new technologies and architectural approaches for potential adoption, conducting proof-of-concept projects to assess their viability and impact.

You will love this job if you have:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in architectural roles, with significant experience leading cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Extensive experience with AWS cloud services and architecture.
  • Proficiency in service-oriented architecture (SOA) and software architecture principles.
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies and their applications.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards in industries such as finance, healthcare, or telecommunications is a plus.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
