CheckYa - Social Media Marketing Intern

San Francisco, United States
Internship

About CheckYa

CheckYa’s mission is to empower freelancers by providing them with all the tools they need to run their businesses. Our product enables freelancers to sell digital products, launch a professional profile page, offer paid bookings, and send invoices to their clients.

The Role

We are looking for a Social Media Marketing Intern to help us grow our user base at CheckYa. Our mission is to provide freelancers with the best software tools to support their business endeavors. Expanding our user base is essential to this mission, as it enables us to extend our reach and gather valuable feedback to enhance our product.

As an early-stage but well-funded startup, CheckYa offers you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing. The right candidate will be someone who is self-motivated, eager to experiment, and unafraid to try new things. In our dynamic environment, we are constantly exploring and implementing new marketing strategies. We’re seeking someone who can bring fresh ideas and serve as the social media voice of our company.

Where You Can Make an Impact:

  • Reel and Short Video Creation: Create engaging social media reels/posts that resonate with CheckYa's audience and showcase our features. For inspiration, check out what we’re currently doing on TikTok/Instagram @trycheckya.
  • Daily Content Posting: Develop and post short videos that tap into relevant and current trends. While we’ll support by providing ideas, you’ll have the autonomy to steer the social marketing direction.
  • Data-Driven Analysis: Gather audience feedback, analyze marketing campaigns, and adjust strategies as needed to optimize performance.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay on top of trends on platforms like TikTok and Instagram, tailoring content to capitalize on them.
  • Video Editing: Utilize tools like CapCut and embedded platform editors to create polished, engaging content.
  • Social Media SEO: Learn the basics of optimizing content with the right hashtags, captions, and other SEO strategies to maximize reach and visibility.
  • Creator Outreach: Help identify and establish partnerships with relevant creators who can help us expand our reach.

You Are:

  • Passionate about Social Media: You have a strong interest in social media marketing and are eager to grow social media accounts.
  • Comfortable On Camera: You’re willing to be the face of our social media content, creating the majority of reels yourself.
  • Proactive and Eager to Learn: As the main social media intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work independently while receiving guidance and support from our team.
  • Driven: You’re excited to produce content regularly and adapt quickly to feedback and new strategies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Demonstrated growth on social accounts - please include examples of personal or professional accounts you’ve grown.
  • Excellent communication skills and English fluency (written and verbal)
  • Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to craft compelling captions, carousel posts, and blogs.
  • Any business-related experience is a plus, whether from a side hustle, entrepreneurial endeavor, or freelance work.

Details

  • Hourly rate: $20 USD
  • Part-time: Approximately 20 hours per week
