Aviation Recruitment experts Optime are excited to be recruiting Check-In Agents with flexible shifts to join a well-respected and successful client in Bristol Airport.

Once your initial background checks and training are complete, you’ll be able to work anything between 0 and 25 hours per week – simply by booking yourself in via our app.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous customer service experience who wants to work flexibly in an energetic airport environment (for example: students, parents looking for part-time work, anyone looking to choose their own shifts or boost an existing income).

  • 3rd March 2025

What’s on offer:

  • Rate of Pay: £12.50 per hour
  • Weekly pay
  • 2 weeks paid training provided.
  • You must pick up a minimum 2 shifts per week on our App.
  • Ongoing shifts and development opportunities available.

Key Duties:

  • Assisting passengers with checking in their luggage using the self service machines and processing documentation ahead of their travel.
  • The role will require you to work on your feet for extended periods of time. This is due to check in areas being predominantly self service.
  • The role covers all front of house customer service tasks, to ensure a smooth and seamless passenger journey through Bristol Airport.
  • Greeting passengers on arrival at the airport and answering any queries passengers might have about their journey, assisting with any disruption and resolving issues.
  • Check passengers’ travel documents, such as passports, and boarding passes, to confirm their identity and eligibility for travel.
  • Collect any applicable fees for checked luggage, excess baggage, or other services, and process payments using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Manage and organise passenger queues to ensure an efficient and orderly check-in process, especially during peak travel times.
  • Be prepared to respond to emergency situations, such as flight delays, cancellations, or disruptions in a calm and professional manner, providing passengers with updated information and solutions.
  • Upholding airline standards and company values at all times in your customer service, personal presentation and timekeeping.
  • There will be opportunities to up skill and complete airside boarding training.
  • Full training will be given which involves 10 days of classroom-based training.

Shifts available:

  • 4AM – 10AM
  • 3AM – 9AM
  • 12PM - 6PM
  • 3PM – 9PM

We would require a minimum of 12 to 18 hours completed per week (2 shifts per week).

*Minimum monthly hours required for training purposes.

Requirements:

  • Previous customer service experience is desirable.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Confident using technology / IT systems.
  • Clean DBS check
  • 5-year checkable work/education history
  • Flexibility
