As a Chassis Design engineer, member of the Chassis Systems Design team of Applus IDIADA, your mission will be being involved in different design projects related to some of the chassis modules (Suspensions, Brakes, Steering system and Wheels & Tyres).
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Design ownership of chassis systems.
- Ensure an appropriate packaging for the components between themselves and for the whole system on vehicle.
- Initial definition and change management of the BOM.
- Support DFMEA generation.
- Support DVP generation.
- Ensure DFM & DFA are implemented on the design.
- Supplier management.
- Support mule and prototype vehicles assembly as required.
- Support the definition of the chassis components technical specifications.
- Writing technical/scientific documentation and monitoring reports.
- Participation in project meetings and in cross-functional design reviews.
- Work alongside other technical departments.
- Contribute with new proposals for R&D projects.
Education
- University degree: Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering. Specialised in Mechanics or in Automotive.
Language Skills
- Fluent English
- Other Languages will be asset.
Profile Requirements
- Previous automotive OEM experience will be an asset (Tier 1 component experience also considered).
- Understanding of working principles of chassis systems.
- Knowledge of main manufacturing techniques and materials used in chassis systems design.
- CATIA V5 2D/3D skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of CAE and simulation tools will be an asset (ADAMS, Patran/Nastran, etc.).
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and tolerance analysis.
- Good communication skills and confident in discussions at different hierarchical levels.
- Recognizable empathy, with team spirit, and with high level of assertiveness
