About the Role

Responsible for conducting classroom and clinical training under the general direction of management with established policies and procedures. 

Shift: PRN

What You’ll Do
As a member of our team you will have an impact on our clients through accomplishment of the following responsibilities:

  • Teach curriculum in accordance with DADS requirements as described in the Code of Federal Regulations.
  • Provide instruction through teaching and assessing knowledge and skills of staff. Achieve effective skills and knowledge through classroom and direct one-on-one instruction.
  • Coordinate clinical schedules.
  • Assist students in scheduling examinations following the completion of the nurse aide course. Ensure applications for examination are completed accurately.
  • Responsible for keeping records of each course to include dates and times of all classroom and clinical hours, attendance records of each trainee and the final course grade for the training portion of the NATCEP that indicates pass or fail for each trainee.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required.
  • Perform general office tasks as required.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team we need you to come with the following:

  • Requires in-depth understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English.
  • Requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to maintain details records and produce reports.
  • Requires current Texas licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse. Must complete and/or meet training and certification required by Buckner and the State of Texas.
  • Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.

Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the amazing qualifications and experiences listed above, if we had our say, we would also look for:

  • Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice; including basic knowledge related to nursing, such as drugs, biological, physical, social, and medical sciences, and their application.  Working knowledge of infection control, universal precautions and OSHA standards.
  • Knowledge normally associated with attainment of a Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years prior work experience in a related field in long term care.
