Access Services is looking to welcome part-time Certified Investigators to our Intellectual Disability and Autism Division! Part-time, as-needed positions are open in all three of the regions we serve: Lehigh Valley, Delaware Valley, and Schuylkill County.  

Position Summary: Support the ID/A (Intellectual Disability and Autism) programs by conducting certified investigations as assigned, maintaining regulatory timeframes and required documentation. This position will need to work with program leadership to identify trends related to investigatory findings as well as coordinate quality management activities, incident management, risk management, programmatic and environmental and individual safety, regulatory and legal compliance, internal policy and process implementation. 

Essential Functions of the Certified Investigator:  

  • Attend the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) certified investigator’s training course and pass the examination in order to receive initial certification; conduct an independent investigation of an assigned incident pursuant to the Unit’s investigation protocol and Commonwealth Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) regulations and policy by obtaining relevant information and evidence, interviewing witnesses and analyzing all information with the objective of generating a written report containing factual findings and conclusions; entering investigative summaries in the Commonwealth’s Enterprise Incident Management (ElM) system found in Home and Community Services Information System (HCSIS); participation in the Administrative Review process and, assisting, as needed, in provider specific plans of correction with other members of the Risk Management Team (RMT). Respond within two (2) hours of assignment, which may include weekends and holidays. Interface with criminal justice system, including court appearances as necessary; and maintain valid ODP Certified Investigator Recertification. 
  • Foster the ideals of Access Services through leadership and adherence to established philosophy, objectives, policies and standards. 
  • Operate a motor vehicle safely as outlined in the Motor Vehicle Safety Program Policy if traveling for work. 

Requirements

Requirements and Qualifications 

Candidates must meet all qualifying and ongoing job criteria including background checks, physical examination results, and clearances.

Education and Experience:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent required  
  • Bachelor's degree preferred 
  • Two years of work experience in a related field required 

Certification: Office of Developmental Programs Certified Investigator Certification is required

  • Ability to work independently, with objectivity and diplomacy 
  • Computer literacy

Schedule and Compensation: 

  • Starting at $25/hour, with adjustments made for education and experience 
  • This is a part-time, as needed position and is hybrid.  
  • There is no set schedule, but most investigations take place during the week. You will be scheduled as needed.
