CCTV Traveling Technician

Wachter is accepting applications for Security (CCTV) Project Technicians for the installation, upgrading, service, and maintenance of CCTV and alarm systems at various retail locations across the United States.

Requirements:

  • Experience installing CCTV, Cat 5 and 6 cabling, conduit installation, terminating RJ45’s, camera troubleshooting, switch troubleshooting, exterior building penetrations, and networking. 
  • Current/valid state required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology.
  • Must be available for travel 6-8 weeks at a time. 
  • Must be willing to work overnight hours. 
  • Experience reading and following blueprints, site maps, and installation guides. 
  • Knowledgeable in closets and MDFs.  
  • Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.  
  • Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
  • Must have knowledge of cabling infrastructure.   
  • Experience in conduit installation is a plus.  
  • Must have good communication skills for working with Project Managers and customers. 
  • Must be willing to work with our internal ERP installation tracking software to upload deliverables and time through cell phone app or computer. 
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years. 
  • Must be able to work independently or within a team environment. 
  • Axis or Avigilon certification is a plus. 
  • Experience with Access Control is a plus. 
  • Experience terminating, splicing, testing, and working with fiber is a plus. 

Responsibilities:

  • Installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various CCTV systems.    
  • Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and conduit work.   
  • Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that CCTV systems are complete and satisfy the customer and contractual requirements.   
  • Assist and collaborate with the Installation Team Lead or Project Manager regarding on-site work schedules and timely delivery of equipment.  
  • Conduct tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.   
  • Take pictures and provide daily deliverables of installation progress through internal Wachter software. 
  • Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
