Catalogue DC Assistant

takealot.com, a leading South African online retailer, is looking for a highly talented Catalogue Assistant to join our team in the KZN DC.

The position reports to the Catalogue Team Leader

Your specific responsibilities will include:

You will have overall responsibility for the management of a listings team and data quality in the product categories that fall within your team across both our Retail & Marketplace business.

  • Uploading product and merchant data by using various systems (Dashboard or spreadsheets)
  • Quality checking of new catalogue listings and editing of existing catalogue listings across both Retail and Marketplace listings
  • Reviewing data for gaps or errors and resolving or escalating issues to Team Lead
  • Ensuring the correct implementation of the Catalogue Product Information Requirements
  • Managing individual workloads and adhering to a pre-determined turnaround time
  • Assist with barcode issues arising at the DC where the DC is unable to receive stock
  • Responsible for taking photos for the broader merchant operations teams (own cell phone to be used)
  • Responsible for communication between DC and Product Queries
  • Responsible for resolving issues found on the floor at the DC
  • Act as the Merchant operations representative at the DC
  • Use initiative to resolve any backlog at the DC due to lack of representation
  • Highlight any process inefficiencies and work towards finding a way to rectify it

  • Strong excel skills (including VLOOKUP’s)

  • Impeccable multi-tasking abilities: Able to balance responsibilities between queues and live issues at the DC

Qualifications and Experience:

  • National Senior Certificate
  • 2 years administrative / operational experience
  • Experience working in a distribution centre environment is advantageous
