This is a casual contract (we are also open to a contractor), and we require someone who has the flexibility to scale hours up or down depending on the needs of the team.

We are seeking applications for a casual Research Specialist to join our Customer Capability team, within Customer Solutions group (CSG). CSG’S missions is to provide fast and flexible matching of expertise, knowledge, and experiences to our customers, enabled by digital.
What you’ll be doing | Te whakamahere
- Collaboratively develop research proposals in conjunction with NZTE’s Customers, Customer Managers and International teams.
- Conduct extensive and targeted primary and secondary market research from initial scoping and planning phases to, data collection, analysis, and storytelling of recommendations.
- Analyse and interpret trends, patterns and correlations within data to create thought-provoking customer insights underpinned by a sound commercial understanding.
- Produce thorough and well organised reports, presentations and graphics to summarise and explain research findings and their implications.
- Work effectively with external agencies to brief market research projects for the Market Research team and across NZTE.
What you’ll need to be successful | Ō Pūkenga
- Have experience in primary market research, survey design and analysis (usage & attitudes surveys).
- You will be a great relationship builder with the ability to interact with key influences and decision makers across all levels. Along with this you will be customer focused and able to manage multiple needs, priorities and expectations.
- A natural problem solver, you will be able to use initiative, be forward thinking and decisive while staying cool under pressure.
- You will be skilled at identifying key insights across large information sets (data and anecdotal) and making them meaningful for our customers.
- Have high-level report writing skills and able to clearly articulate messages across informal and formal communication channels, with a skill in clear, simple, meaningful messages.
- You are a great visual storyteller being able to design and present reports in a visually appealing way.
