Cash Application Analyst

PROFILE SUMMARY 

 

The Cash Application Analyst plays a crucial role in DISCO's finance team, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of incoming cash receipts, application of payments to customer accounts, reconciliation of discrepancies, and timely recording of financial transactions. They contribute to the organization's financial accuracy and customer satisfaction.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES 

                                          

• Cash Receipt Processing: Receives and processes various types of payments, including checks, wire transfers, ACH transactions, and credit card payments. Applies payments accurately to customer accounts based on provided information, invoices, and remittance advice.
• Reconciliation and Discrepancy Resolution: Conducts daily reconciliation of cash receipts, bank deposits, and customer accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigates and resolves discrepancies between payment amounts, customer records, and invoices.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including sales and customer service teams, to address payment-related inquiries and resolve customer issues. Identifies and escalates any potential issues or irregularities in cash transactions to the appropriate department.
• Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintains accurate records of all cash transactions, updates customer accounts, and prepares related reports. Prepares regular cash application reports, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports as needed.
• Month-end and Year-end Activities: Assists with month-end and year-end closing activities related to cash application and general accounting processes.

 

EXPERIENCE

• 2-5+ years work experience as a Cash Application Specialist, Cashier, Accounts Receivable Clerk, or in a similar role

• Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards related to cash application and financial transactions
